Balfour Kilpatrick win replacement
school contract
Balfour Kilpatrick has been awarded GBP4.6m contract to provide mechanical and electrical services for a new replacement secondary school in Durham.
This education project comprises the construction of a three-storey 1450 pupil comprehensive school that will replace the existing building Balfour Kilpatrick will be carrying out the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the mechanical and electrical services in addition to the isolation and making safe of existing services in the current buildings prior to demolition
Biomass boilers and rain water harvesting will be included within the scheme to provide renewable energy and sustainable solutions.
Balfour Kilpatrick starts on site for client GB Building Solutions in March 2008 with the ultimate client being Durham County Council.
The project is due for completion in March 2009.
