Balfour Beatty awarded another major NHS contract

Balfour Beatty Construction Scottish and Southern awarded GBP16.5M contract for the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

This is the fifth contract that Balfour Beatty has been awarded at the Southern General Hospital.

The project will involve the construction of a new four-storey medical facility and a link to the existing maternity unit.

The works will consist of a structural steel frame, composite floors and a single membrane flat roof finish.

The external envelope will be clad with a mix of materials including metal/terra cotta rainscreen, facing brick stone and glass assemblies.

The works are due for completion in Autumn 2009.
