Balfour Beatty joins the UK Green Building Council

Balfour Beatty has joined the UK Green Building Council, an organisation which aims to bring clarity, purpose and co-ordination of sustainability strategy to the construction sector.

Balfour Beatty's activities already incorporate many aspects of good practice and contribute to sustainable development.

Membership of the UKGBC will further assist the Balfour Beatty group in the development of a coherent corporate approach to sustainability, providing clarity on sustainability issues and assisting the Group in determining its sustainability priorities for the future.

Head of the Balfour Beatty sustainability working group, Mike Peasland, said: "Balfour Beatty is committed to aligning the long-term interests of our markets, the communities in which we work and the environment".
