Calmag, manufacturers of water conditioning products, has joined the Domestic Water Treatment Association (DWTA - a group within BEAMA).

Charles Wysocki, managing director of Calmag, one of Europe's largest independent manufacturers of water conditioning products, has said it has joined the Domestic Water Treatment Association (DWTA - a group within BEAMA), because of the need to "standardise certain areas of the water treatment industry".

He commented: "An important association within the industry, we feel the DWTA is making the right steps towards this through the chemical group.

Ultimately, under this banner, it's giving customers the confidence to use heating system products offering the highest standards of installation and performance.

"The whole concept of promoting professionalism and standards will ensure the industry moves to the next level - eradicating the 'cowboy' element that has preceded it".

DWTA Director Kelly Butler said: "Calmag is another key industry player in our ranks.

We're delighted it's onboard - the association is going from strength-to-strength in the influence it yields in the marketplace, especially regarding standardisation issues and initiatives.".
