Timber firm with nerves of steel

Employees at one of the top Welsh Timber Frame building firms watched in horror last week as their colleague 'free-fall' abseiled off the top of Newport's largest bridge for charity.
Recently promoted company buyer for Benfield ATT, Lisa Dymock, leaped-off the main boom of the 225ft transporter bridge in Newport - the highest and oldest structure of its type in the UK - in a free-fall abseil.
Not because of her recent appointment, but to help raise funds for lifesaving leukaemia charity, The Anthony Nolan Trust, and urging volunteers to join the Anthony Nolan bone marrow register.
As part of their 2006 Business in the Community commitments, the team at Benfield ATT helped 21-year-old Lisa raise over £200 (and still rising!) for the charity.
Every year thousands of people with diseases like leukaemia reach a stage in their illness when their only hope for survival is a bone marrow transplant.
The Anthony Nolan Trust takes back lives from leukaemia by managing and recruiting new donors to the UK's most successful bone marrow register.
Janet Williams, the event organiser for Anthony Nolan, comments, "We are delighted that Lisa and Benfield ATT have been able to support a fantastic day for the Anthony Nolan Trust".
"As an independent charity we continually rely on funds raised from events like the Newport abseil, and would like to thank everybody involved for making this particular event in Newport such a success".
Lisa Dymock, commented, "Our decision to support Anthony Nolan is a very personal one but most people have an experience they can relate to this".
"I'm proud to think that I've both conquered my fears and raised a decent amount of money for a worthy charity".
"It wasn't scary but I'll be fundraising with my feet on the ground next time!".
