Berry spring steel buffers - oriental style
Contract for the safety barriers was awarded to Berry Systems at Wing Yip Chinese Cash and Carry own multi-storey car park.
Most of the barriers were designed with integral handrails - to provide additional protection for people - and mounted on Berry's patented spring steel buffers for added protection for vehicles too.
Flexible steel fittings and plastic end caps were utilised where needed to avoid damage or injury caused by sharp, exposed ends and corners.
Although the centre is heavily used by HGVs, fork lift trucks and wheeled trolleys, Berry Systems helped to create as safe an environment as possible.
The barriers were installed by Berry Systems' own installation team working through main contractor Bowmer and Kirkland and involved 400 metres of Barrier Rail mounted on spring steel buffers.
