Environmental Profile Certification from the BBA
The British Board of Agrement has awarded its first Environmental Profile Certificate (10/EP1001) to Saint-Gobain Weber for its Weber Monocouche Renders.
As a result of a licence agreement, the profile has been calculated using identical Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) based profiling methodology to that developed by BRE Global.
Therefore, it is possible to include a Green Guide rating as part of the process - in this case the product can achieve an A+ Green Guide Rating.
The BBA Certificate includes information on the product's embodied environmental impacts in both absolute and Ecopoint terms, along with information of the process and methodology to assist users of the Certificate in understanding its content.
Greg Cooper, chief executive, BBA said: "The addition of Environmental Profiling to the BBA's portfolio is a significant step towards ensuring that there is sufficient capacity in the UK to cope with the need for information on embodied environmental issues and ensures consistency of approach between two major UK providers.
He continued: "Over the next few years achieving consistency of approach across the EU will become increasingly important and the BBA is already working with sister bodies in Europe on how this can be achieved.
