BWF Timber Training Programme
The British Woodworking Federation takes its Timber Training Programme to Melton Mowbray
Timber experts will be at the JELD-WEN UK factory in Snow Hill to guide joiners, wood machinists, timber specifiers and buyers from the surrounding area about the different species of wood and how to get the best results from this beautiful and sustainable building material The training programme is divided into three half-day CPD-accredited modules: Module 1 'Understanding softwoods and hardwoods' covers the principles of sustainable growth, sorting and timber selection as well as how to choose the right wood for the job Module 2 'Treatments and coatings' explains types of preservatives, coatings and the range of application techniques Module 3: 'Sustainability 'focuses on the production, purchase and use of sustainable timber "Architects and specifiers are increasingly coming to recognise wood as our most sustainable building material" says BWF chief executive Richard Lambert

Timber Windows Still On The Up
