The £19 million development to construct 'Wallis Yard' - on an under-used brownfield site in Maidstone's Hart Street, is due to start on site in 2006.
Wallis Yard and Bellwinch Homes are both owned by Kier Group plc.
Situated alongside the River Medway, the four-storey curvilinear blocks will imaginatively take the form of a series of pavilions with distinctive coloured rendering, helping further enhance the individuality of each building.
Two of the courts have been designed as river-facing, with each residence featuring its own balcony.
Wallis Yard will also benefit from mews-style parking and a courtyard for both pedestrian and vehicular access featuring contemporary street furniture and formal planting.
The new development includes a landscaped public open space along the river, which is set to enhance the overall riverside environment as well as improve the public tow-paths, providing a sympathetic, rural setting for the new housing development.
In addition, the new Wallis Yard is adjacent to a GBP13.5 million housing project in Hart Street designed by the architects for developer Cathedral Group Plc.
Comprising four-storey, one and two bedroom apartments with undercroft parking, the site is the first stage in the regeneration of the land lying between Hart Street and the River Medway, previously used for industrial premises.
Furthermore, a Biscoe + Stanton scheme for Fairview New Homes in nearby Ecclestone Road also achieved planning permission in June this year.
Comprising 190 flats and houses with 48 affordable units, the new development lies opposite Wallis Yard on the south side of the River Medway.
