BIAT international conference, 'On the waterfront: regeneration of a city' will examine the successful regeneration of Belfast's waterfront and examine how lessons learned can be applied elsewhere.

BIAT is counting down to its third international conference, 'On the waterfront: regeneration of a city' to be held in Belfast on 19 November 2004 The conference will examine the successful regeneration of Belfast's waterfront and examine how lessons learned can be applied elsewhere - focussing on urban regeneration, sustainable communities and development

Discussion will encompass new acts, regulations and policies affecting both development and construction, and will have an international flavour whilst retaining a regional emphasis.

Speakers will include Trevor Martin, Chief Building Control Officer for Northern Ireland, and Paul Everall, Head of Building Regulations, ODPM.

The conference will be based in the newly developed NTL studio at the heart of Belfast's waterfront development, and is sponsored by Aluminium and Plastics Systems, Creagh Concrete, Ibstock, Keystone, Kingspan, Floorsales, Metal Technology, Sika Forbo, Tegral, Velux, and supported by the Architects Benevolent Society, Royal Institute of British Architects, Construction Industry Council, and the Chartered Institute of Building.
