British Turntable Co., the UK's leading turntable manufacturer, has launched the revolutionary new DriveAway turntable.

British Turntable Co., the UK's leading turntable manufacturer, has launched the revolutionary new DriveAway turntable, an ingenious piece of equipment that could help with planning permission issues where limited space for residential development is creating vehicle access to public roads difficult.

The DriveAway has been designed to put an end to the dangerous procedure of reversing onto a drive from a busy main road and vice versa.

Instead, the vehicle is driven onto the turntable and, when the time comes to drive off again, it can simply be pushed through 180deg to point it in the right direction.

The effort required is minimal.

The DriveAway offers an extremely low profile - only 70mm at the edge - is 3.6 metres in diameter and is robust enough to cope with the vast majority of family-sized vehicles up to 1800kg in weight.

Smooth in operation, it is built to withstand inclement weather conditions and requires little maintenance.

Designed for self-installation on top of the drive surface, the DriveAway can also be flush-fitted into the driveway itself and is therefore an ideal optional extra for new build or an add-on offering for conversion and renovation projects.

It is suitable for all areas with parking and reversing difficulties, and where the front garden has been converted into a parking area, shrubs and flowers can still be planted to two or three sides, keeping the house frontage as attractive and eye-catching as the neighbours' gardens when the hard-standing area is not being used.

John Entwistle, Managing Director of British Turntable and founder of the company in 1959, has been delighted with the interest generated in the DriveAway from its exposure at two major shows.

"We've received a number of good enquiries and orders for the DriveAway, and have already exported it overseas.

We're looking forward to forging relationships with the housebuilding industry, where the DriveAway can be installed at source and provide a real benefit to the housebuilder and owner alike.
