Success for hydraulic movement specialist
Bill Boley have completed a complex quadruple hydraulic lifting, jacking, weighing and tensioning project during the construction and installation of a new 87 metre concrete foot bridge.
16 vertical jacks were used to lift and prop the ramp and then 16 horizontal jacks were used to push the structure sideways approximately 50 mm back to the correct position.
With the ramp securely supported the existing brickwork was removed and new foundations put in place.
The jacks were kept in place until the support structure had been completed.
As a spokesman for Bill Boley commented: "This is typical of the type of problem we are asked to solve".
"Our knowledge of structures together with our ability to work closely with third party contractors ensure such projects are completed in a safe and expedient manner.".
