Ecostar condensing units - economy and
performance
Bitzer's air-cooled Ecostar intelligent 'plug and play' air-cooled condensing units are proving popular with retail refrigeration applications both in the UK and continental Europe.
Ecostar is being specified on account of its attractive price-performance ratio in medium and low temperature refrigeration applications At the heart of the Ecostar, Bitzer is using the potential of its Octagon compressor and combining it with integral suction gas cooled frequency inverter and state of the art regulation and controls technology to improve efficiency and therefore operating costs

The controls technology also monitors the application limits and increases operational safety.
Energy consumption is kept to a minimum whilst ensuring maximum operational reliability.
Optimum evaporation pressure, during part load operation, can be achieved as well as high system efficiency, even at low compressor cycling rates.
In addition to fan speed regulation of the compressor, two condenser fans are also intelligently and infinitely speed regulated to promote energy efficiency.
An external temperature-guided phase section controller regulates the condensing fan speed between around 20% to 100%.
The fans can be operated in 'eco' mode or 'low sound' mode.
These can be alternated if required via a timer incorporated in the controller and this is a useful feature when noise levels are an issue, typically at night in residential areas.
For seasonal energy savings, there is a condenser fan setting for winter operation.
Intelligent Ecostar condensing units will suit installation in areas such as petrol stations shops, supermarkets, hotel and restaurant cold rooms, fruit and vegetable cold stores and air handling units.
They can be used in both new build and refurbishment projects representing an effective alternative to smaller parallel refrigeration packs.
