BM TRADA's client, Noberne Doors Limited, worked in partnership with Bradford based joinery specialist, Abrahams and Carlisle to supply some 450 doorsets for the high profile project.
During the work which was phased over 12 months, Noberne produced around 40 different door types, all made to measure, and encompassing ash veneered doors.
While some of the doors were specified with special high acoustic performance, approximately two thirds had to be 60 minutes fire rated.
Director of Noberne Doors, Jonathan Agar, comments: "Being able to supply certified fire doors was an essential part of winning the contract to supply all the internal doors to Abrahams and Carlisle for the prestigious Sage Gateshead.
Q-Mark certification is a valuable credential for us in our specification work and we were one of the first companies to join the scheme back in the Eighties.

The scope of BM TRADA's Q-Mark fire door scheme not only offers certification on periods of resistance up to 120 minutes, but also encompasses four categories of membership.
They These are manufacturers of complete door-sets, companies who produce fire door blanks, and fabricators who turn the blanks into the finished article, as well as registered installers.
The Q-Mark Fire Door scheme also provides a unique means of identification for clients and building control officers with coloured plugs giving precise information on the type of door, the period of protection and the manufacturer.
