Chiltern Dynamics/BM TRADA free SBD information

A BM TRADA Certification product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 8, 2008

Chiltern Dynamics and BM TRADA Certification have revised their popular Technical Information Sheet T1-0806 Secured By Design Doors and Windows, available free of charge.

Certification under the Secured by Design (SBD) scheme, developed by the Association of Chief of Police Officers Crime Prevention Initiatives (ACPO CPI ), is highly prized by manufacturers wishing to sell their products into SBD housing schemes, commercial developments or sheltered accommodation.

It is an ACPO CPI requirement that all entrance doors and accessible windows are covered by an independent, third-party certification scheme for enhanced security, such as the BM TRADA Q-Mark.

The high level of confidence offered by third-party certification is essential when considering security and personal safety.

It goes beyond testing to ensure that the product continues to meet the performance requirements and consistency in manufacture.

The new Technical Information Sheet outlines SBD requirements and provides a useful check list for manufacturers targeting SBD certification.
