The agreement extends Bentley's presence in Scandinavia, where existing Bentley users include, among others, the Swedish National Rail Administration.
At the same time, it gives IFS an opportunity to explore new markets.
As Michael Hallén, CEO of IFS, said, "This agreement with Bentley is a further step in our strategy of partnering with leading companies in the marketplace".
" We look forward to collaborating with Bentley worldwide to grow the market for our software in asset-intensive industries." The users of IFS' CAD applications are largely owner-operators in the power generation and pulp and paper industries.
The products are integrated with IFS Applications, a suite of business solutions that are used in these industries mainly for asset maintenance and spare parts logistics.
Bentley shares with these users the goal of managing all phases of the plant lifecycle, and will offer them a planned migration from IFS' CAD applications to Bentley AutoPLANT - a solution that will let them retain tight integration with IFS Applications.
"The agreement with IFS expands our solutions in Scandinavia and provides an opportunity to collaborate on selling lifecycle solutions to asset-intensive companies worldwide," said Jeff Hollings, senior vice president, Bentley Plant.
