New mid-range mini-excavator from Bobcat

Bobcat has expanded the company's excavator range with the launch of the new 329 mid-range mini-excavator model.

Bobcat has expanded the company's excavator range with the launch of the new 329 mid-range mini-excavator model The 329 combines exceptional performance, including a maximum digging depth of 3102 mm, with the unmatched operational reliability that is the hallmark of Bobcat excavators

Designed for operator comfort and easy operation, the 329 has an operating weight with cab of 3339 kg.

The 329 is based around a compact package with a width of 1540 mm, height of 2358 mm and an overall length in the travel position of 4880 mm.

Powered by a 20.6 kW (27.6 HP) Kubota D1703 diesel engine operating at 2400 rpm, the 329 provides a breakout force over the bucket cylinder of 3064 daN and a breakout force over the dipperstick cylinder of 1716 daN.

Complementing the maximum digging depth of 3102 mm, the 329 mini-excavator offers a maximum dump height of 3184 mm and a maximum reach at ground level of 4874 mm.

The boom on the 329 is able to swing through 90o to the left and 50o to the right.

The dozer blade has a width of 1540 mm.

A selection of buckets with widths ranging from 330 to 990 mm and capacities from 0.034 to 0.11 m3 is available for use with the 329.

The hydraulic system on the 329 is driven by a dual-outlet variable displacement piston pump with gear pumps, providing 53 l/min of auxiliary flow for powering a range of Bobcat attachments including hydraulic breakers, augers and a hydraulic clamp.

The 329 has 320 mm wide rubber tracks as standard, though 320 mm steel tracks are available as an option.

Each track is driven by a hydrostatic axial piston motor providing low range and high range travel speeds of 1.93 and 3.06 km/h, respectively.

Travel speed and direction of the excavator can be controlled either by pedals or hand levers.

Two hydraulic joysticks on the 329 control the dipperstick, bucket, boom and upper structure slew.

The 329 complements the existing Bobcat mini-excavators and retains the same lower body structure made entirely of 6 mm steel for superior strength and protection in all applications.

At the rear of the machine, the engine is mounted for optimum serviceability with the alternator and starter on its rear side and a large oil cooler for improved auxiliary cooling.

With the launch of the 329, Bobcat now offers a range of 17 excavators, beginning with the 820 kg 316 micro-excavator to the top-of-the-range 12.5 tonne 444 model.

From the 316, where the breakout force is 830 daN and maximum digging depth is 1.55 m to the 444, which produces a bucket breakout force of 8150 daN and a maximum digging depth of 4.51 m, Bobcat excavators offer some of the highest bucket breakout forces and among the fastest cycle times in their respective classes.
