New sideshift backhoes for Bobcat
loaders

New R30S and R35S backhoes offer greater capability and many more features than the previous 730SH and 835SH models they replace.

The new R30S and R35S sideshift backhoe attachments from Bobcat can be mounted on all the company's skid-steers, compact tracked loaders and all-wheel steer loaders from the S130 model and up The new R30S and R35S backhoes offer greater capability and many more features than the previous 730SH and 835SH models they replace

As well as very impressive maximum digging depths of 2990 and 3510 mm, respectively, the R30S and R35S backhoes have easy-to-use joystick controls for precise, smooth movements and reduced operator fatigue.

The weight of the R30S backhoe without a bucket is 840 kg; it has a loading height of 2087 mm, a loading reach of 1317 mm and the reach from the swivel point is 3757 mm.

The unit has a swing arc of 180o, a bucket rotation of 201o and the sideshift is 738 mm.

The digging force is equal to 21.4 kN over the bucket cylinder and 13.7 kN over the dipper cylinder, respectively.

The weight without bucket in the R35S backhoe is 850 kg.

This new backhoe has a loading height of 2535 mm, a loading reach of 1592 mm and the reach from the swivel point is 4272 mm.

Like the R30S, the unit has a swing arc of 180o, a bucket rotation of 201o and the sideshift is 738 mm.

The digging force is equal to 31.3 kN over the bucket cylinder and 22.6 kN over the dipper cylinder, respectively.

The joystick controls are mounted directly on the valve bank, eliminating all mechanical linkages.

The valve bank features a new section with manual depressurisation of the auxiliary hydraulic lines.

This system removes all pressure in both lines to facilitate connection and disconnection of hydraulic breakers and other attachments.

To support this function, a drain line has been added to the backhoe feeding lines.

This drain line connects onto the drain coupler on the loader.

The new backhoes have electrically activated auxiliary hydraulics.

The switch is located on top of the right hand side control lever allowing the operator to activate the attachment and position the dipper arm simultaneously, thus improving job efficiency.

The stabilisers on the new R30S and R35S backhoes now have swivel pads to provide better contact with the ground, improving ground grip on uneven and rocky terrain in particular.

The swivel stabiliser pads also help to reduce stress in the stabiliser sliding tubes.

As part of their standard safety features, the backhoes are equipped with a safety shut-off valve that locks out all hydraulic functions when the control valve is in the raised position (to enter and exit the loader).

In addition to the side shut-off valve, a mechanical system locks the valve assembly in the raised position.

It must be manually released to lower the control centre into the working position.

With the key design parameters of simplification and easy service, the hose routing is greatly improved in both new models, and now runs above the swing frame instead of inside the frame as before.

The hoses are routed in one piece from the valve bank to the cylinders, reducing and eliminating several fittings and tube lines.

The hose routing design allows for easy replacement of components and reduces repair downtime.

The new routing also reduces the stress in the hoses, especially when side-shifting the work group.

Because the R30S can be mounted on Bobcat's medium (S130, S150, S160, S175, S185, S205, T140 and T190) and large frame loaders (S220, S250, S300, A300, T250 and T300), it is designed with bolt-on mounting arms to accommodate the different frame sizes.

The rear frame in the R35S is completely new, providing for just one type of mounting arm to allow use of the backhoe on all loaders from the S220 up to the T300.

The side-shift frame in both backhoes is locked in place by 4 clamping cylinders.

The sliding rail in the backhoes has been lowered and the top cross member removed to improve visibility to the trench.

The height of the stabiliser tubes has also been reduced to improve front side visibility. Request a free brochure from Bobcat ...
