Less than 1% downtime for Bobcat
excavators
Tara Holdings , the plant hire and haulage business, recorded downtime of less than 1% over last two years for company's fleet of Bobcat mini- and midi-excavators.
Frank Monaghan, one of the principals in the Tara business together with fellow Director, Paul Newman, said: "A key aspect behind the very high uptime and utilisation of the Bobcat excavators is the combination of the very robust, steel construction and the user-friendly design, providing great advantages in plant hire applications" "These machines are built solidly to take the bump and grind of work day in, day out on construction sites." The very low downtime of the Bobcat machines fully justifies Tara's decision two years ago to extend the company's fleet with an exclusive order for 50 new Bobcat excavators

The placing of the entire order with Bobcat was based on the preference expressed by Tara customers and the excellent performance of previous Bobcat excavators in the fleet.
"The rapid response and excellent service have also been important factors in the low downtime of the Bobcat excavators," said Paul Newman, "over the last two years we have expanded the Bobcat fleet, which now numbers over 70 machines with the addition of a new order for five 323 mini-excavators".
As well as the headquarters in Northfleet, Tara runs another depot at Mitcham with a new satellite depot just opened at Littlehampton on the Sussex coast.

Frank Monaghan added: "The solid metal rear tailgate on Bobcat excavators provides excellent protection for the engine and other components and swings open to provide easy access for maintenance work".
"The Bobcat tailgate also costs much less to repair than on competitive machines".
