Bobcat machines for Travis Perkins
Travis Perkins, has taken delivery of new Bobcat micro- and mini-excavators and skid-steer loaders from Doosan International as part of their expansion plans in the hire market.
The new Bobcat machines, which are worth more than GBP3 million, include a mix of E08 micro-excavators, 319 mini-excavators and S100 skid-steer loaders, are part of leading UK builders' merchant Travis Perkins' ambitious expansion plans in the hire market.
Product testing by Travis Perkins' customers prompted the company to make the purchase of 150 excavators (comprising 30 E08 micro-excavators and 120 319 mini-excavators), with an additional 40 Bobcat S100 skid-steer loaders.
Travis Perkins, one of the country's largest timber and builders' merchants, supplies building products and materials to the trade, and has invested heavily in its tool and plant hire division over the last few years to take a significant share of the hire market.
The company now operates one of the UK's largest tool and plant hire operations with more than 300 outlets nationwide based within its Travis Perkins and Keyline Builders' Merchant businesses.
A key factor in winning the order from Travis Perkins was the service capability offered by Doosan International UK via the Company Branches in the West Midlands and the North West.
The new Bobcat branch at West Bromwich significantly enhances service for National and Key Account Bobcat customers such as Travis Perkins.
From this central base in the heart of the UK, the Bobcat branch also forms a new resource for Bobcat dealers right across the country.
All the new Bobcat equipment is being fitted with the Datatag security system and registered with the Construction Equipment Security and Registration (CESAR) scheme.
The official CESAR scheme acts as a powerful deterrent against plant theft and aids identification and recovery in the event of theft.
