B and P Security Services Limited has recently completed a major upgrade of the security system at the States Prison Guernsey.

B and P Security Services Limited has recently completed a major upgrade of the security system at the States Prison Guernsey including CCTV and perimeter protection plus a state-of-the-art command and control system The project spanned complete replacement of the perimeter protection system, upgrading and replacement of a number of CCTV cameras, provision of new cameras in the recently built visits hall plus a new video matrix, all interconnected throughout the establishment by a mixture of fibre optics and copper

The existing control room was relocated and redesigned to provide a complete new command and control package consisting of three graphic workstations operating two 42" TFT monitors with input to these units via a central mixing box.

This equipment ensures optimum flexibility of camera picture display in response to alarms and for specific the uses required of the system at given times.

During installation, a third touch screen workstation was made available for use by the Governor's staff.

The new Command Centre provides fully integrated monitoring and control over the external alarms, the general internal alarms, the cell systems, fire alarm information, CCTV, the Public Address system, the radio system and the PABX telephone network.

The success of this project demonstrates how B and P bring bespoke solutions to control room applications, delivering systems that full exploit the latest technology.
