Bradstone was brought into the scheme when the project came to halt in the sourcing of its roofing.
With the Roman villa almost complete, the team were unable to find suitable roofing.
Mark Barter, Commercial Manager for Bradstone Structural commented, "We were delighted that Bradstone was chosen to supply roofing for such a fascinating project.
Crofters was approved by the planners because it is a natural looking stone slate, readily available and easy to lay at an affordable price.
Additionally it is made out of oolitic limestone, similar to the limestone roman slates found by the planners.
This has now allowed Bradstone to become a part of History!" Crofters is based on reclaimed stone roofing and has a weathered appearance for a very natural look, combined with the simplicity of using a single size slate making the material much easier to lay and at a fraction of the cost.
