New Robust Detail specifies Isover
An innovative construction system, which specifies one of Isover's high performance insulation products, has been approved as a new robust detail for masonry cavity walls.
Working closely together, they provide instant access to materials for their customers by using other members' branches where necessary.
And this may be more so since the Government's budget announcement that an extra 250,000 insulation installations of subsidised insulation would be allocated over the next two years.
Isover thermal and acoustic products for masonry, timber-frame and steel-frame applications are in greater demand than ever by a construction industry facing an increasing number of onerous building regulations.
Under the partnership agreement, Cemco members will benefit from guaranteed supplies, fully palletised deliveries, supply chain and logistical arrangements, and marketing and training support.
Cemco chairman Andrew Nicholls said: "Saint-Gobain Isover have been successful in securing the Cemco business for a number of years, with the most recent agreement expiring at the end of 2005".
"Prior to Cemco awarding a new contract, it had to be certain the new supplier was in a position, not only to satisfy the ever-increasing demand for insulation due to changes in legislation, but also be able to support the extra volumes required through Cemco's strategic growth.
"From the assurances received and the continued reliability of service, coupled with continued innovation, Cemco had the confidence to award Saint-Gobain Isover a new two-year deal".
Allan Durning, sales and marketing director of Saint-Gobain Isover, said: "The industry is more reliant now than ever on the vital role that builders' merchants play in the supply chain and we know this agreement with Cemco reflects that fact.".
