Isover launch national network of HVAC installers

A Saint-Gobain Isover UK product story

New network of installers of revolutionary ductwork system that replaces traditional sheet metal and insulation approach with rigid insulation boards.

The first members of a national network of installers of a revolutionary ductwork system that replaces the traditional sheet metal and insulation approach with rigid insulation boards have been inducted by Saint-Gobain Isover.

Representatives of five fabrication companies were trained on the Climaver system by a team headed up by Isover's technical manager Michael Hunter at the Birmingham offices of insulation distributor Kitsons Thermal Services.

Another five companies will be trained at Isover's own training centre at Kirkby Thore near Penrith in November and further sessions are planned.

The fabricators were intensively hands on for two days after which they received a comprehensive fabrication manual and certificate announcing their graduation as Approved Climaver Installers.

The Climaver Plus R system for heating, air conditioning and ventilation processes is manufactured from high-density glass mineral wool board faced on both sides with a robust aluminium foil surface that acts as a vapour barrier.

This is patterned with guidelines, providing a reference for cutting and construction.

More efficient and more economical than conventional sheet metal and insulation systems, Climaver's fabrication process allows precision-cut joints to ensure low air leakage rates and improved performance and energy savings in domestic, commercial and industrial sectors.

Lightweight and faster to install than metal ductwork with insulation, Climaver is highly adaptable to on-site changes in design and layout during a project's progression.

* More and more specifiers and users are insisting on the use of insulation materials that not only deliver technical performance but also come with exceptional green credentials, with the BRE Green Guide to Specification a common point of reference.

In this, glass mineral wool insulation can achieve an A+ rating.

It also boasts zero ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) and zero GWP (Global Warming Potential).

Manufactured from a combination of silica sand, the earth's most abundantly naturally-occurring mineral, and recycled glass, more than 80% of the raw material used in the production process is recycled post-consumer glass, from building regeneration projects for example, or flat glass manufacture that would otherwise go to landfill, making Isover one of the most environmentally sustainable insulation products on the market today.
