British Gypsum say 'Think sound - think blue'
Think sound-think blue', is the latest message from British Gypsum following a move to standardise the face colour of all products in the company's Gyproc SoundBloc acoustic board range.
The new guide explains the legislative and key design requirements, and how Arteco acoustic ceilings are now replacing traditional solutions, such as carpets and wall linings, as a low maintenance, low life-cost way of achieving the required standards in communal areas, including corridors and stairwells.
The eye-catching designs add an extra dimension of design to the areas, as well as providing high levels of reverberation control to ensure the right acoustic ambience.
The guide explains the two methods that can be adopted for calculating the area and type of lining, depending on application, and, through worked examples, shows how a final specification can be achieved.
Another key area affected by the new Part E legislation is separating floors, which have become more of an issue with the move to multi-storey, multi-occupancy dwellings.
The guide explains the new requirements, and offers a range of tried and tested solutions developed by British Gypsum for compliance using either the Robust Detail or Pre-Completion Testing routes.
The new guide is now available to download from the British Gypsum website.
