British Gypsum say 'Think sound - think blue'
Think sound-think blue', is the latest message from British Gypsum following a move to standardise the face colour of all products in the company's Gyproc SoundBloc acoustic board range.
To help achieve the GBP70 million centre's outstanding acoustics, experts from British Gypsum worked alongside consultant acousticians, Arup Acoustics, to develop a complete lining and partitioning specification for the compartmentalised concrete box structure of The Sage Gateshead's Hall One.
Throughout the centre, vast quantities of British Gypsum GypLyner, GypWall STAGGERED and GypWall CLASSIC metal systems have been used for partitioning and wall lining.
Internal walls to all classroom areas have been lined with GypWall IWL, an independent metal framed lining system, faced with three layers of Gyproc SoundBloc.
Lower level ceilings are formed from CasoLine MF, lined with three layers of Gyproc Wallboard and under drawn with Arteco Gyptone features set in 1200mm rows.
In Hall Two, an Arteco Gyptone Point11 suspended ceiling combines acoustics with eye-catching aesthetics.
The British Gypsum products for the project, which opened recently to great critical acclaim, were installed by Johnson Brothers of Leeds, and partitioning contractors, GT Contracts.
