He was also awarded the 2005 Thistle 'Golden Trowel' trophy, presented annually by British Gypsum to the best student in the Thistle Training Partnership programme.
The annual Skillbuild plastering competition is a challenging and prestigious experience for young trainee plasterers and for their colleges.
To win top spot, Adam first had to compete in the regional heats before going forward to the 3-day final, which was held this year from 12-14 October, at North Glasgow College.
Ken Smith, Manager of British Gypsum's Drywall Academy, who presented Adam with his Thistle trophy and a cheque for GBP250, said, "British Gypsum has been sponsoring and supporting the training of plasterers and dryliners in the UK for more than 40 years, and has always been particularly keen to attract and support young tradesmen, on whose shoulder the future of the industry will depend.
"We are particularly pleased that this year's winner was again from a leading College member of the Thistle Training Partnership, a British Gypsum funded programme which provides a range of financial, product and associated support for the UK's leading building colleges".
