British Gypsum say 'Think sound - think blue'
Think sound-think blue', is the latest message from British Gypsum following a move to standardise the face colour of all products in the company's Gyproc SoundBloc acoustic board range.
The DHL team has already established a dedicated office unit at East Leake, with an administrative team of ten, 69 drivers and 12 loading support operatives.
This, coupled with a new fleet of 48 tractor units, five rigid vehicles and 137 curtain-sided trailers, enables the team to meet the strict day-one order for day-two delivery schedule.
As part of a jointly developed performance improvement plan, DHL has worked closely with British Gypsum to increase the output of the site to meet rising levels of customer demand.

This plan, alongside significant investment by British Gypsum in production and distribution facilities will bring huge benefits in terms of fleet availability, improved delivery performance and fewer trailer movements per day on site.
Many of the deliverables of the existing work being undertaken by DHL for British Gypsum at its Barrow-on-Soar facility will be mirrored at the East Leake site.
One of the key areas is to maintain high levels of product availability to builders' merchants and construction sites as they often have limited storage capacity for perishable items such as plaster and plasterboard.
This results in products being delivered to site on a just-in-time basis.
David Sherrington, logistics manager at British Gypsum, said: "DHL has proven to be a very supportive supply chain partner for us, bringing new innovations to solve existing issues and always ready to work together on areas such as health and safety as well as the core competencies of delivery performance, volumes of deliveries and overall quality management".
British Gypsum was also looking for a supply chain partner that could provide proactive solutions to its logistics challenges as well as an ability to think "outside the box" and bring fresh ideas to areas of the business.
Sherrington continues: "Creating a world-class logistics capability at East Leake is a journey, not a sprint and choosing a logistics partner with the right attitude and scale of resources has been a central part of our business strategy moving forward".
