British Gypsum new focus on acoustic
ceilings
Responding to the growing demand for improved acoustics in residential and commercial buildings, British Gypsum is setting up a specialist division to focus on its range of acoustic ceiling solutions.
Whilst recognising that there will always be a demand for basic functional ceilings, new Ceilings Sales Manager, Steve Wintle, believes that 'intelligent' ceilings - ceilings that actively control the internal acoustic environment of building spaces, will continue to grow in popularity as construction becomes more sophisticated and building standards rise "We already have a range of ceiling tiles developed specifically to help control speech intelligibility in school classrooms, conference centres and similar areas", says Steve, "and the choice of perforation options available in our ceilings range enables the architect and acoustic consultant to engineer an appropriate acoustic solution for almost any space - from a large auditorium to retail spaces and common areas in modern residential developments"
