To be licensed, a home inspector will need to pass the Diploma in Home Inspection and have their knowledge and understanding assessed by an approved Assessment Centre.
Home Inspectors are the key to the Governments plans to introduce Home Information Packs which will be needed by all houses placed on the market in England and Wales for sale from January 2007.
BRE is well known for its publications, training, advice, consultancy and research in the built environment.

BRE's assessment centre has been developed with the assistance of Cambridge Regional College and to further support the home inspector BRE is also offering a range of specialist training, publications and technical support services.
If you have a sound knowledge of building construction and pathology and preferably have been involved in residential inspections BRE can take you through the assessment process, help you to compile your portfolio of evidence and to take the external test in order to achieve the qualification.
BRE is also very interested in hearing from qualified assessors who can help us meet the very substantial demand that we are expecting for this vocational qualification.
