Delegates at a seminar held at BRE, voiced their concerns about the implementation of the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.

However BRE Certification's list of accredited inspectors is now over 100 strong and this total should exceed 300 by 1st June with further growth expected during June and July.
BRE Certification are one of five approved accreditation schemes.
"We are disappointed with the recent announcement and the uncertainty it creates," said Chris Broadbent, head of the BRE team responsible for training assessors.
"However the requirement for there to be an EPC for all properties sold and rented will not go away as this is stipulated in the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive".
"We have a growing pool of applicants for our training and assessment and are expecting an increase in membership running up to the summer months".
Individuals working towards becoming qualified and accredited should continue with this process as demonstrating that there are sufficient inspectors and assessors will be a key factor in the full implementation of HIPs.
To help prospective assessors, BRE has deferred payment of application and membership fees for its accreditation schemes until 31st October 2007.
In addition to this, the annual membership period will not commence until 1st August 2007.
This means that there will be no penalties for early registration.
