Integration in the goods and access lift industry
Britannia Lift's John Patey examines the advantages that fully integrated lift suppliers can bring to their customers.
Whilst the goods lift is a standard design, the location of the site plus the fact that the lift had to be installed into an existing lift shaft posed several technical and logistical problems to Britannia's engineers.
The only access to the store was through the main doors that lead onto the street, meaning that the lift had to be transported to the site and taken into the store in pieces before being installed in the basement.
This was made even more difficult by the fact that the store had to remain operational during the installation process.
"The Britannia Lift has made transporting stock between floors much quicker and easier and has significantly increased our storage capacity and, consequently, the overall efficiency of our operation here." Commented Lorna Durrant of Majestic Wine.
"The difficulties we faced in installing this lift made this project truly unique and we are extremely satisfied with the end result." Commented John Welton, Service Manager at Britannia.
