DDA compliance can give access to new business
Britannia Lift's Technical Director, John Patey, discusses the options available to businesses as they look to become DDA compliant and the potential benefits this can bring.
Due to the size and weight of the machinery being elevated, a bespoke design was required.
The lift was also needed within nine weeks of the initial site assessment in order for the lift installation to coincide with the construction schedule of contractors, Images Partitioning and Storage .
The resulting lift was over 2.5m x 2.5m internal and rated at 1500kg.
John Baker, Managing Director of Images, commented: "The lift supplied and installed by Britannia blends seamlessly into the mezzanine structure and Sortex are very pleased with the results." Britannia's Technical Director, John Patey, added: "As we carry out every stage of lift production from design through to installation, we can meet relatively short lead times as we don't have to rely on third party suppliers." Britannia Lift has been designing and manufacturing hydraulic lifts since 1963.
The result is a uniquely broad choice of heights, load bearing capacities, platform sizes, controls, entry configurations and other options - giving engineers unequalled flexibility in solving design problems.
Britannia Lift's entirely comprehensive service starts at the initial application investigation, drawing up specifications for equipment and making recommendations concerning builders' work.
The service continues throughout the manufacturing process and site surveys, culminating in delivery and installation to meet clients' needs.
Full after sales service and maintenance back-up is also available when required.
