In conjunction with the publication of BS EN 16001 the new energy management standard BSI is holding their second annual conference on efficient energy management.

Efficient Energy Management Implementing BS EN 16001.

30 September - 1 October, 2009 Grange St Pauls, London.

The new British Standard BS EN 16001 Energy management systems.

Requirements with guidance for use specifies requirements for an energy management system that enables an organization to take a systematic approach to the continual improvement of energy performance.

It aims to help organizations establish the systems and processes necessary to improve energy efficiency, leading to reductions in cost and greenhouse gas emissions.

In a business world increasingly focused on sustainability, organizations are constantly urged to assess their energy management strategy.

Tougher legislation and greater public demand for environmental accountability means that reducing energy consumption is a key priority.

The conference will deliver a detailed briefing on the new energy standard, including updates from the pilot organizations who are trialling the draft version.

Delegates will benefit from guidance on implementing, operating and auditing the system in real-life operating environments, and learn how the new standard works with BS EN ISO 14001 and other management systems.

The post-conference workshop offers a practical introduction to implementing BS EN 16001.

Delegates to the conference will also have the chance to take part in discussion sessions where they can get expert opinion on the new standard and on meeting Government targets and initiatives.

Conference price includes a copy of BS EN 16001 Energy management systems.

Requirements with guidance for use.

Early bird rates are available until 29 June.
