Bosch Security Systems has supplied a complete CCTV security solution for Atco Qualcast, the leading manufacturer of lawn and garden equipment.

Bosch Security Systems has supplied a complete CCTV security solution for Atco Qualcast, the leading manufacturer of lawn and garden equipment The system uses the latest high quality cameras plus digital recording to provide improved security surveillance at Atco Qualcast's large 20-acre manufacturing facility at Stowmarket in Suffolk

Bosch designed and supplied the complete system using only Bosch products including 5 high performance DinionXF colour cameras, 5 Envirodome cameras, a 16 channel Divar digital recorder with 600 GB of internal disk storage plus DVD writer, an Allegiant BiLinx data interface for remote camera configuration, a NetCam-2 2 channel network camera for monitoring the main reception area monitors, plus lenses, mountings and control room equipment.

It replaces an older video system with limited site coverage, static monochrome cameras and videotape time-lapse recording with a much more modern solution that provides higher quality images good enough for court evidence if required, plus a system that provides better site coverage and instant digital playback.

The system was installed by Anglia Electrical and Security of Lowestoft.

The new Bosch system provides virtually 360deg perimeter site surveillance with high quality colour, full pan, tilt and zoom and continuous digital recording.

It uses day/night EnviroDomes which automatically switch to high sensitivity monochrome providing useable pictures even in very low light conditions.

It features a 16-channel Bosch Divar DVR that provides continuous digital recording and playback for all cameras with high capacity video archiving on a DVD writer with full data authentication meeting standards for police and court evidence.

The system also features a 16-channel Allegiant complete with BiLinx data interface allowing cameras to be remotely set-up and configured over the video coax cable with no extra wiring, plus Bosch's Intuikey keyboard for easy integrated control of the entire system.

The NetCam-2 camera also allows the reception area to be monitored on a PC in the security lodge.

According to Steve Gooding, Facilities manager for Atco Qualcast, "The system has greatly improved the way security officers carry out their work and has already proved its worth in terms of improved picture quality even in low light, greater ease of use and fast digital search facilities".

"With such a large 20 acre site and over 500 employees, it is essential that any incident can be instantly replayed and investigated, security staff can work much more effectively and quickly, greatly improving the effectiveness of our overall security operations," he added.

He added that Bosch Security Systems won the contract after a competitive pitch for their ability to design and supply a complete state-of-the-art CCTV system including high performance CCTV cameras, advanced digital recording plus ancillary control room equipment from a single source.

Darren Melia of Bosch Security Systems said "This system demonstrates our ability to supply major companies like Atco Qualcast with an all-Bosch CCTV solution to a very demanding specification".

"It uses our latest high performance DinionXF and EnviroDome day/night cameras plus our stand-alone or networkable Divar digital recorders which are both leaders in their fields".

Atco Qualcast is a renowned worldclass manufacturer of a wide range of garden equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, shredders, hedge cutters, chainsaws and high pressure washers.
