Bosch's New DVR1A and DVR1C Digital Video Recorders which replace traditional time-lapse video recorders are being exhibited at IFSEC

Bosch Security Systems announces 2 new versions of their DVR1 family of Digital Video Recorders which provide a practical and cost-effective direct replacement for traditional video recorders for small businesses including shops, forecourts, hotels, leisure and domestic premises Being fully digital, they make CCTV recording, storage, retrieval and viewing of images much easier and faster, and therefore considerably more efficient

They are also much more reliable than a conventional recorder, and with no tape usage or regular maintenance required, its cost of ownership is significantly lower.

The new DVR1A offers a hard disk capacity of 80 GB, equivalent to approximately four VHS videotapes.

This allows continuous or time-lapse recording for up to a week or even longer with full alarm and pre-alarm recording capability allowing users to see events leading up to the alarm.

The equally new DVR1C provides several enhancements including a higher capacity 160GB hard disk equivalent to 7 videotapes, plus a network facility that allows remote viewing using a standard web browser across a Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) or via the Internet.

Live or stored images can be accessed from any location, without disrupting recording.

Multi-level password protection makes it possible to select exactly who can view recorded and/or live images.

The DVR1A and DVR1C record directly from a single camera or from multiple cameras using a multiplexer and the DVR1C records both video and audio for a full replay of both images and sound.

According to Bosch, the main advantages are no need to change, manage and replace videotapes, much higher video quality with no degradation, faster searching and no costly maintenance of read/write heads.

Both models make it easy to search through stored video by date/time or alarm events, with the facility to retrieve images almost instantly.

Simple front panel controls - including jog/shuttle - make it straightforward to navigate through the on-screen menu, select options and view images.

For greater flexibility in viewing, storing and sharing, individual frames or video clips can be exported to a Compact Flash card for transfer to a PC.

Recording can be continuous, time-lapse or triggered via an alarm connected directly to the DVR.

Footage recorded before the alarm is stored in the buffer and automatically transferred to the hard disk for subsequent viewing and evaluation.

The new DVR1 models are part of a complete range of digital video systems from Bosch which also includes the advanced Divar multi-channel recorders offering versatile stand-alone or networked operation, and the powerful DiBos video management system which allows large video systems to be managed, distributed, archived and accessed by multiple users.
