McNamara's career in the fire safety industry spans more than 30 years.
Before joining Bosch, he started as a technician with Edwards Signaling Products, Norwalk, CT, and quickly moved into management roles within the company's service and sales departments.
He has also worked extensively in product development, engineering and management at both Gamewell and Bosch.
McNamara has been an active member of NEMA for more than five years.
The position, which has a term of two years, is the stepping-stone to being appointed chairman for the group, which also carries a two-year term.
NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturing Association) and its Signaling, Protection and Communication Product Group are the principle source of technical, training, and educational information essential for the specification and manufacture of reliable life safety products, their installation, performance, maintenance, and inspection.
