The C900V2 enables Internet communications for virtually any conventional alarm panel.
This capability allows alarms to be dispatched automatically over an installed high-speed Internet connection - and it does not require a land-based telephone line.
With this module, full operability for Bosch alarm panels as well as those manufactured by a wide variety of vendors is maintained.
Users do not have to modify the installed panels, so operation remains the same and no new programming or codes are required.
The new Web programming tool makes configuring the C900V2 as easy as browsing a Web site.
Bosch developed the C900V2 in response to two technology trends gaining popularity in the United States: many households and businesses are switching away from landline telephones in favor of cellular phones, and a rising number of households and businesses have installed high-speed Internet or broadband connections.
By eliminating the need for a landline, users can select their telephone technology independent of their fire or security alarm system's requirements, thus potentially lowering expenses.
The C900V2 uses Bosch's innovative Conettix IP technology to accept analog signals from a conventional alarm panel.
It digitizes the information (including user and zone numbers), and then formats the data for fast Internet transmission.
Conettix IP also maintains a "heartbeat" status signal with the central station, improving on the typical daily or weekly handshake signal used by most panels.
