Bosch expands storage capacity of Divar XF

Bosch Security Systems is introducing 500 Gigabyte and 1 Terabyte storage expansion kits offering the possibility to increase the storage capacity of its Divar XF Digital Video Recorders.

The new kits allow the internal storage of the Divar XF to be incrementally expanded on-site up to its maximum of 4 Terabyte.

Combined with the systems' H.264 compression, which offers 30% better compression than traditional MPEG-4 recording, this means that the system is capable of meeting the requirements of the most demanding CCTV recording environments.

The expansion kit contains a Bosch digitally-signed 500 Gigabyte or 1 Terabyte Divar XF hard disk, screws to mount the hard disk, an Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) wrist band and a quick installation guide.

Divar XF is equipped with a proprietary cooling-tunnel design and temperature-controlled ventilation ensuring sufficient cooling and quiet operation.

In combination with its enterprise-class hard drives, the Divar XF provides a reliable recording solution in a 24x7 continuous-duty-cycle environment, and guarantees longer system lifetime.

The front accessible hard discs allow storage expansion and service without uninstalling the recorder.

The hard drives used in Divar XF and the expansion kits support the latest version of Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology (S.M.A.R.T.).

This technology warns a user or system administrator of impending drive failure while there is still time to take preventative action, significantly decreasing the possibility of data loss.

The H.264 standard implemented in the Divar XF is an open standard that utilizes the most efficient video compression techniques available today.

The standard follows on from the highly successful MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 video standards and offers significant advantages over these in video quality and compression.
