Full marks for a successful BSEC 2009

A BSEC product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Feb 18, 2009

It was a record breaking year for Building Schools Exhibition and Conference (BSEC) 2009, with more than 5000 visitors and 270 exhibitors - making it the biggest event to date.

Planning for BSEC 2010, which will move to London's Excel is already underway and 50% of exhibitors have already booked to attend.

Highlights from BSEC 09 included a record number of local authorities exhibiting; the renowned conference was attended by over 800 delegates who were addressed by key industry figures including Rt Hon Jim Knight MP, Tim Byles chief executive, Partnerships for Schools and Professor Stephen Heppell, chairman of BSEC.

"We are delighted that BSEC 09 has been such a success," Rob Lozowski, Event Director of BSEC commented.

"As the only event that focuses solely on the construction, maintenance and design of schools in the UK - interest in the event is soaring".

"Due to expected investment in the education sector, BSEC surely represents one of the best opportunities for suppliers to the construction industry".

One company that has recognised the benefits of BSEC is platinum sponsors BAM.

Simon Turner, Projects Director at BAM commented: "We have supported BSEC since the event began four years ago".

"We are delighted at the growing success of BSEC and the interest it has created within the market".

"BSEC 09 has generated more interest than in the past three years put together".

BSEC is the only event that brings together everyone at the forefront of school rebuilding initiatives and the only event supported by all the major education bodies: Department for Children, Schools and Families, Partnerships for Schools, BECTA, BCSE, NCSL, CABE and RIBA.

With local authorities, contractors, architects, headteachers, school governors and ICT professionals all networking under one roof and increasing investment on improving the education sector - BSEC is a valuable opportunity not to be missed.
