BSW Timber supplies larch cladding to Skibo Castle
BSW Timber's larch cladding has been chosen by Skibo Castle to house a swimming pool processing plant as part of a renovation of its hydro-leisure facilities.
The new structure, designed in the style of a boathouse on the banks of Loch Ospisdale, will house the plant for the swimming pool, originally built by Andrew Carnegie in 1902.
The larch clad plant will house air-handling, water filtration and temperature control machinery.
The members' only club ensured that the swimming pool plant was built using Scottish timber and sourced BSW's high-quality larch cladding through local suppliers, Buildbase Inverness.
The build took 11 months to complete, including the refurbishment of the adjacent swimming pool building.
BSW Timber's British grown larch cladding was chosen as a naturally durable and sustainable material which complements the rural surroundings of Skibo Castle's estate.
Alan Wheat, director of sales and marketing at BSW Timber, commented: "The appeal of larch cladding is broad; it's versatile, attractive and the raw materials are grown in the UK.
We want people to recognise that quality British larch is an ideal option for a wide array of purposes.
"As a fully sustainable and durable timber, which is FSC certified, larch cladding products come with the assurance that they will be long lasting and maintain their striking look in years to come".
