BSC gets go ahead to teach NEBOSH
qualifications

Leading occupational health and safety charity the British Safety Council has been successful in its application to become a NEBOSH Accredited Course Provider.

NEBOSH accredited qualifications will now be delivered alongside the BSC's existing qualifications, making the BSC the first health and safety organisation to offer a comprehensive suite of accredited qualifications to meet the needs of the market Candidate registrations for the first courses will begin in July 2008

Teaching of the Level 3 National General Certificate qualification will commence in October, with the first exams in December.

Teresa Budworth, NEBOSH's Chief Executive, commented: "NEBOSH is delighted to welcome the BSC as an accredited centre.

As a registered charity, we at NEBOSH strongly believe that we have an obligation to work with other charitable organisations in promoting health and safety, particularly through education and training." She continued: "We work closely with all our centres and look forward to supporting the BSC in the future".

Brian Nimick, Chief Executive of the BSC, said: "We are delighted with this accreditation and look forward to working with NEBOSH to provide the highest standards in health and safety training to our existing and new members.

The BSC is in a unique position to offer the complete suite of both BSC and NEBOSH courses and qualifications to the UK and international markets.

He continued: "People already come to the BSC because they see us as a one stop shop for high quality health, safety and environmental services.

Now two well respected health and safety organisations will be giving professionals even better access to their courses and qualifications, ensuring that we all keep working towards a healthier and safer society.".
