"The modern tiling industry is reflecting the construction industry as a whole in its approach to equal opportunities", says David Rowley, Training Centre Manager.
Vince Ruffini is a new appointee at BAL, and he joins as Training Officer with wide-ranging industrial experience, including experience with Coca Cola and the London Fire Brigade.
He has also worked as a tile fixer for a number of years.
His new position includes managing the day-to-day activities of the Enfield Training Centre, and ensuring that OCN and specialist courses are delivered to company and industry standards.
He reports to David Rowley, who is promoted to the position of Training Centre Manager, overseeing the company's training operations at all three sites.
David has been with BAL since 1992 and has been personally responsible for driving forward many of the company's training initiatives.
Earlier this year he won an 'Outstanding Employee' award from the TTA.
Along with the development of its training activities, BAL is also further strengthening the level of technical support it can provide to the market, with the promotion of David Wilson to the position of Head of Technical Services.

"Our aim is to establish a national network of five regional training centres, so we are well on the way towards that, enabling the provision of high quality training on a national basis".
The Enfield centre can accommodate up to ten trainees and has purpose-designed facilities.
Like all the BAL training centres it can offer a full range of three-day practical wall tiling and floor tiling courses, as well as tailor-made and OCN courses.
They are fitted out with special wooden bays, which allow the participants to learn tiling skills by practical experience.
A separate area within each Training Centre is also set aside for theory-based knowledge training, including the showing of videos and group discussions.
Courses at the BAL Training Centre at Enfield have been under way since May, and any fixers interested in attending courses at either Enfield, Stoke or Bristol should contact the BAL Training Centre on 01782 591123, or email enquiries to training@building-adhesives.com.
