New positions for Building Adhesives duo

A Building Adhesives product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Nov 24, 2006

Building Adhesives has expanded the Product Management teams for its BAL and Dunlop Adhesives brands following significant market growth.

Building Adhesives, the leading adhesives and grout manufacturer, has expanded the Product Management teams for its BAL and Dunlop Adhesives brands following significant market growth.

Existing Building Adhesives employees Debi Bailey and Alex Underwood have been promoted to the new positions of Senior Product Manager for BAL, and Product Manager for Dunlop Adhesives, respectively.

Kay Porter, Head of Marketing at Building Adhesives commented: "It was essential to split the product manager role for the BAL and Dunlop brands due to recent developments and successes in the separate markets".

"BAL has introduced a number of new products for the professional tile fixer market, and Dunlop has completed a highly successful launch in Eastern Europe".

"As such, the demands on the Product Management team have grown and evolved, and in order to help maintain each brand's individual direction and identity we have restructured." She added.

Debi Bailey, previously a Product Manager for both BAL and Dunlop Adhesives, but now Senior Product Manager for BAL, has over six years experience in the industry.

The new role will facilitate continued product development and provide an opportunity to maximise the potential of successful and innovative new products such as BAL Microcolour and BAL Acousti-Bond.

Debi Bailey commented: "BAL is the most recognisable brand for the professional tiler, and my new position will allow us to broaden the horizons of the Product team and unlock the full potential of this leading brand in the marketplace".

Alex Underwood joined Building Adhesives twenty months ago in the role of Market Analyst.

The main responsibilities of this position included a comprehensive UK marketplace audit and a full review of possible new markets in Eastern Europe for the Dunlop brand; which built the foundations for the recent successful launch of Dunlop Adhesives products in Romania and Czech Republic.

The extensive knowledge of the brand's potential and its market position formed in this role led to Alex's promotion to Product Manager for the Dunlop brand.

Alex commented: "As Dunlop Product Manager, my first priority will be to further harness the potential of Dunlop Adhesives both in the UK and as a globally recognised brand".

"I am looking forward to the challenges of my new role; particularly in Eastern Europe and other potential new markets." He added.

The two new roles began in October, and both Debi and Alex have already started to incorporate their new ideas.

Kay Porter continued: "Debi Bailey and Alex Underwood have close connections to the two adhesive brands, ranging from extensive product knowledge to a detailed understanding of the brands' individual markets".

"This makes them the ideal candidates for their new positions, and I am confident they will help to continue the growth and success of Building Adhesives from these new roles.".
