BAL expands architect support package

A Building Adhesives product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Apr 5, 2007

Leading tiling products manufacturer Building Adhesives Limited launches new specification binder and online tools.

Building Adhesives Limited, the leading tile adhesive and grout manufacturer has expanded its suite of technical support materials for architects and specifiers with the launch of an extensive, updatable specification binder.

The new resource is designed to work in conjunction with other BAL support materials, including the pioneering online specification tool, Powerspec Online.

Paul Rushman, technical director at Building Adhesives commented: "Given the ongoing technical advancement of tiling products, the constant shifting of trends in tile size and materials and the continued evolution of legislative controls; we see our suite of dynamic technical support services as a cornerstone of our operation".

"There is a huge amount of information to make available to architects, so we are always looking for new ways to get the message across, and the new specification binder is a prime example of this philosophy." He added.

The new binder is already being distributed to architects via BAL's regional representatives, and regular updates will be sent to ensure the comprehensive document remains up to date with the latest technical and legislative developments at all times.

Aside from the printed format, a majority of the information contained in the binder has also been made available to download from the BAL website.

Paul Rushman continued: "Websites are an excellent way of providing architects with an up-to-date and accessible resource, so we have recently invested in the BAL site to provide more specification data, case studies and CPD information".

In addition to BAL's corporate website, the company has also recently updated Powerspec Online; a free-to-use online specification tool that not only provides useful technical information, but also generates approved specification documents for projects.

By selecting the appropriate options across a series of drop-down menus, architects can use Powerspec to generate accurate and detailed specifications for their projects.

Powerspec, located at www.powerspeconline.com, is updated regularly to ensure all specifications adhere to the latest legislative standards, and the system allows architects to save and update their unique specifications.

The suite of BAL technical support services also includes a technical advisory service hotline, which fields over 30,000 individual calls every year, and the company operates a range of CPD opportunities.

Paul Rushman added: "Building Adhesives is not a company that simply reacts to changes in the tiling sector; through our product development and interaction with users we are a primary influence on those changes".

"In the same way, we want to remain at the forefront in terms of technical support - using new and innovative methods to expand the resources available to the industry.".
