Loft traps from Glidevale offer an insulation level that helps achieve the new BREEAM EcoHomes environmental rating and help compliance with Building Regulations Document L.

The first range of loft traps on the market to offer an insulation level that helps achieve the new BREEAM EcoHomes environmental rating, simultaneously helping compliance with Building Regulations Document L, is available from Glidevale The Glidevale range of loft traps manufactured using rigid insulation all provide a U value of 0.35W/m2K, the requirement of Documents L1 and L2

The insulation has a GWP(Global Warming Potential) rating of less than 5 and is zero ozone depleting, meeting the credit requirement for the BREEAM EcoHomes environmental rating.

The rigid insulation helps provide continuity of thermal insulation at ceiling level, substantially reducing heat loss through the ceiling.

Vapour seals built into the loft traps effectively stop water vapour entering the loft space via the trap between the frame and ceiling, and the lid and frame reducing condensation risk.

The traps also exceed the air tightness requirements laid down in Parts L1 and L2.

Easy to install, the brilliant white, scuff resistant traps are designed to exceed NHBC minimum opening requirements.

The range includes options of push up or hinge-down opening, both featuring a turnbuckle latch mechanism.

An optional aluminium loft ladder for use with the hinge-down version provides simple loft access.

Additionally, key operated lockable versions provides security in tenanted property or public areas.

Other loft access traps in the Glidevale range can be specified to provide up to 60 or 30 minute fire resistance and Class O surface spread of flame.

Glidevale is part of Building Product Design Group, which specialises in supplying ventilation and building products to the industry.
