Ringing in the changes at Verwood

A Bradfords Building Supplies product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Dec 21, 2007

Bradfords Building Supplies' branch in Verwood, near Bournemouth, has recently undergone a major refurbishment.

Renovation has taken place throughout 2007.

The main aspects involved switching the location of the store's warehouse and counter.

The new sales counter now features at the front of the store, next to fully re-stocked self selection department, with the warehouse tucked away at the rear of the store.

Verwood's store manager, Paul Webster, explained the changes were customer-motivated.

"We needed to make the store more user-friendly, and customer feedback was key to the renovation," he said.

"We're already seeing the benefits".

"We've been able to increase our stock range by 1000 lines, which has generated additional business".

Despite major changes to the layout, the store has remained operational for the entire period, and sales targets have largely been met despite a heavy strain on resources.

"The store's continued success is thanks to a fantastic staff effort," Webster commented.

"Both branch-based and field sales personnel have really worked hard to keep everything running smoothly".

An event re-launching the store will be held in spring 2008.
