Bradfords bolsters Built in Quality

Over 300 people attended Mendip District Council's Built in Quality Awards, sponsored by Bradfords Building Supplies.

Bradfords Building Supplies sponsored the awards for the second year running, and was very pleased to support the event Many of Bradfords regular customers were among the event's winners and runners-up

Award winners included Ken Biggs Contractors, who scooped the Best Commercial New Build Award, P Bridgeman who took the Best Domestic Conversion prize and SM Brine for Best Domestic Extension.

Highly commended runners-up included J.S.

Bloor Homes, in the Best Volume Residential category; Mr K Rayson, for Best Domestic Conversion, Dunford Builders for Best Domestic Extension, and both ROK and D'ovidio Bros receiving praise for Best Community/Public project.

Panellists included Cllr.

Alistair Gordon, Mendip DC's policy holder for building control.

Winners were awarded a ceremonial plaque and a certificate; presented by Michael Eavis, founder and organiser of the Glastonbury music festival.

Tony Bedwell, Evercreech branch manager, attended from Bradfords, and was delighted to see awards won by many of the store's regular customers.

"It's great to see so many of our customers being formally recognised for their efforts," he said.

"The Built in Awards are a fantastic initiative, and it's great to have been involved".

The Built in Quality Awards are sanctioned by the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) and are highly regarded in all sectors of the construction industry.

Local, regional and national competitions are held on an annual basis.

All in all, the Glastonbury event was very successful, with winners being put through to the regional finals.

Building on the event's success, Mendip District Council now plans to hold the awards ceremony annually.
