children
Pan Peninsula scheme project managed by Canary Wharf Contractors, launch schools' initiative promoting construction site safety to children.
The Pan Peninsula scheme developed by Ballymore Properties Limited and project managed by Canary Wharf Contractors Limited (CWCL), recently launched a schools' initiative promoting construction site safety to children and has received an overwhelming response with almost 300 children taking part in a poster design competition The development, consisting of two residential towers of 40 and 50 storeys, is registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme

As part of Ballymore's involvement with the local residents, Pan Peninsula and CWCL Health and Safety Manager John Brogan, Community Liaison Manager and Assistant for Ballymore, Alex MacDonald and Faye Henry visited several local schools to raise awareness of construction site safety.
During these visits a video on construction safety targeting children was shown after which a discussion took place.
All in attendance were asked to assist Ballymore in raising safety awareness further and the children were invited to design and produce posters.
In all nearly 300 children submitted posters as part of the campaign.
In January a selection of posters with special merit were selected and these are currently on display on the site boundary hoarding and in the site canteen.
On 21st February, 14 children and six teachers visited Pan Peninsula to view their posters in situ, visit the marketing suite and were presented with framed certificates.
The panel which judged the posters included the Chairman of the Association of Island Communities - Rita Bensley, Jonathan Morris, John Brogan and Alex MacDonald.
