Camlock Systems' Octagon lock is helping one company, Alusett , to provide a simple system for solving the problem of controlling the release of keys to personnel, knowing who has them, and making sure that they are returned to the correct place.
The patented Alusett Key Manager is a cost-effective solution for controlling keys and knowing where they are.
This eliminates the frustration, time wasting and irritation of the locked storeroom, or the vehicle parked in the loading bay, with no keys in sight.
Each location on the Key Manager board has a retaining position and an access position.
Every position uses a Camlock short-bodied Octagon lock - a total of 50 locks on each standard board.
In operation no retained key can be removed without being released by a fob inserted in the adjacent access position.
Authorisation to remove a key is endorsed by the allocation of a numbered access fob.
While the key is absent, the access fob cannot be removed from its place on the Alusett Key Manager, identifying the keyholder.
The access fob will be released only when the keys are returned to the correct position.
Nic Dancey, Sales Director at Alusett comments "Using the high quality Camlock Octagon system for the Key Manager provides a simple mechanical device which ensures customer confidence".
"Camlock provides solutions that allow us to segregate areas, refining the Key Manager to suit the needs of different installations".
Camlock's Octagon lock system features a patented octagonal shaped key, and key blanks for Octagon locks are never issued.
Keys for keyed-alike or reprogrammable locks can be registered to the customer and are then only ever made available by Camlock to authorised signatories.
